Job summary

Three Rivers Midlands is seeking a dynamic Per Diem Mental Health Technician (2nd Shift) to join its behavioral health team in South Carolina. The role supports adolescents aged 11-17 in residential and RBH settings, assisting with treatment plans and day-to-day care under clinical supervision.

Ideal candidates have at least a high school diploma and, preferably, a Bachelor's in psychology or related field with some direct care experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's preferred for direct care experience.
• Minimum 1 year of direct care experience with adolescents in residential/educational settings.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with residential and clinical treatment teams to carry out the resident Master Treatment Plan (MTP).
• Assist nurses in psychiatric and physical treatment of residents following established procedures.
• Interact with residents in a therapeutic manner at all times and help staff maintain appropriate boundaries.
• Ensure the resident program schedule and MTP are carried out as planned by the team.

Three Rivers Midlands is a comprehensive behavioral health facility treating children and adolescents through residential and Rehabilitative Behavioral Health Services (RBH). We treat males and females ages 11-17 for a wide spectrum of psychiatric issues, addictive behaviors, and chemical dependency related illnesses.

The Residential Counselor Key Responsibilities include:

Mental Health Technicians (MHT) works closely with all members of the residential and clinical treatment team. Plays an integral part of assuring that the resident program schedule and resident master treatment plan (MTP) are carried out as planned by the Team. Performs various duties assisting nurses in the psychiatric and physical treatment and care of residents in accordance with established methods and procedures of the facility. Interacts closely with residents remaining engaged in the various activities and events that residents experience throughout the treatment day. Interacts with residents in a therapeutic manner at all times and assists other staff to also maintain appropriate boundaries.

This is a Per Diem Position.

Per Diem staff are required to work 03 holidays per calendar year, one being either Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

• High school diploma required but strongly prefer a Bachelors degree in psychology or a related field with a minimum of 1 year of direct care experience working with adolescents and children in a Residential Treatment Facility, educational or juvenile setting.
• Valid SC Drivers License preferred
• Requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must possess knowledge of therapeutic relationships, therapeutic processes, adolescent growth and development, limit-setting and behavior management
