Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH invites applications for PRN Mental Health Technician positions. Work 12-hour shifts 7a-7p or 7p-7a, with some weekends and holidays.

The role supports a collaborative nursing team, delivering hands-on care and creating a safe, welcoming environment for patients, aligning with our mission to improve lives daily. Ideal candidates will have or be willing to obtain Basic Life Support within 30 days and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 90 days of start date,

Qualifications

• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of start date.
• Previous mental health/psychiatric or patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers and comfort to support procedures and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care like dressing changes and skin protection.
• Keep patient areas, operating rooms and spaces clean, organized and stocked.
• Manage supplies, equipment and environmental logs to protect patients through infection control.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families and the care team to promote safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth procedures and recovery
• Providing non‑medicated care like dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas, operating rooms, and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and environmental logs to keep the team ready and protect patients through infection control
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team while promoting safety and quality efforts

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Previous Mental Health/Psychiatric or patient care experience preferred
