Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ is seeking a compassionate patient-care team member to support a psychiatric unit. The role involves assisting the RN, conducting rounds, and ensuring safety and patient education throughout shifts from 7AM to 7PM.

Requirements include an Associate's Degree (Bachelor's preferred) and AHA BLS certification. Prior experience in mental health settings is required, with CPI/Handle with Care certifications preferred to enhance care delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a mental health, forensic or addictions setting.
• Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred in Psychology or related field.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• CPI, Handle with Care, Aggression Management certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Registered Nurse in direct, indirect and non-patient care.
• Contributes to quality patient care as part of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Performs observation rounds, vitals, glucose checks, specimen collection and patient education.
• Uses de-escalation techniques and supports safety during psychiatric codes and Code Grey.
• Performs clerical tasks to support unit operations.
