Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Mental Health Technician I for the Floyd Behavioral Health Services unit. Under RN supervision, you will serve as milieu coordinator, provide care for patients during program hours and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient areas, coordinating daily care tasks, and upholding professional boundaries while ensuring a clean, quiet setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institute.
• 2+ years of related experience preferred.
• Mental health experience with Trauma-Informed philosophy and crisis handling preferred.
• CPR certified and CPI certified.
• CNA license preferred.

The Mental Health Technician, under RN direct supervision, serves as the milieu coordinator. Cares for patients during program hours, monitors specified areas and oversees the daily coordination of patient care duties while maintaining professional boundaries. Provides and maintains a clean, safe, and quiet environment.

Qualifications

• Education
• High school Diploma or GED from an accredited institute
• Experience
• 2 or more years' related experience preferred
• Mental Health experience utilizing Trauma Informed philosophy in caring for patients, handling crisis situations in a calm manner and handling significant amounts of confidential patient information
• Licensure/Certification
• CPR certified
• Crisis Prevention Institute Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certified
• CNA license preferred
