Job summary

River Park Hospital in Huntington, WV is hiring full-time Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) for 40 hours per week with a comprehensive benefits package. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered, distributed as $500 at 3 months, $1,000 at 6 months, and $1,000 at 12 months.

River Park Hospital is a 165-bed behavioral health facility, leading in quality care with acute inpatient services for all ages and a 25-bed adult forensic unit.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Six months experience in a mental health setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum.
• Assure and improve quality care by facilitating the patient and family’s right to receive safe, quality, and cost-effective care.
• Maintain and protect confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care and information.
• Demonstrate a commitment to meeting the learning needs of patients by utilizing appropriate resources to meet those needs and achieve positive patient outcomes.
• Conduct patient rounds related to routine and heightened observation status.
• Interact in a therapeutic manner to decrease crisis within the patient care setting.
• Demonstrate respect and understanding for patients, peers and other clinical disciplines and participates as an effective member of the patient care team.
