Job summary

Advocate Health Care seeks a Mental Health Technician to support the Emergency Department with patient care under RN supervision. The role focuses on milieu coordination, caring for patients during program hours, monitoring assigned areas, and coordinating daily care while upholding professional boundaries.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, clean environment and responding calmly to crises. The position is full-time with 36 hours per week and a pay range of $18.85–$28.30 per hour,

Qualifications

• Education requirement: High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years related experience preferred and trauma-informed care experience.
• CPR certification and CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training; CNA license preferred.

Job Summary-

The Mental Health Technician, under RN direct supervision, serves as the milieu coordinator. Cares for patients during program hours, monitors specified areas and oversees the daily coordination of patient care duties while maintaining professional boundaries. Provides and maintains a clean, safe, and quiet environment.

Qualifications:

• A. Education
  • 1. High school Diploma or GED from an accredited institute
• B. Experience
  • 1. 2 or more years' related experience preferred
  • 2. Mental Health experience utilizing Trauma Informed philosophy in caring for patients, handling crisis situations in a calm manner and handling significant amounts of confidential patient information
• C. Licensure/Certification
  • 1. CPR certified
  • 2.Crisis Prevention Institute Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certified
  • 3. CNA license preferred
