Job summary

La Amistad Behavioral Health Services is a leader in behavioral health with over 50 years in the field, affiliated with Universal Health Services. The MHT staff provide safety-focused care, work with assigned client populations, and participate in robust programming and client observations to ensure safety and progress.

Positions include PRN, Full-Time, and a Clinical Track for career development. The team emphasizes empathy, education, and clear communication with clients, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field preferred.
• Prefer experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as a MHT working with children, adolescents and/or adults.
• License/Certification: Not required.
• Skills: Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Clear background from criminal activity.
• Physical Requirements: Extensive walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs. Must be able to lift over fifty (50 lbs.) pounds.
• This position is eligible for a $1 to $3 shift differential in addition to regular hourly pay rate

Responsibilities

• Assists and monitors client’s activities of daily living.
• Interacts therapeutically with clients in one-to-one situations, community and group meetings.
• Has a basic understanding of common psychiatric diagnoses.
• Has professional boundaries with clients and demonstrates the ability to be an effective communicator.
