Job summary

River Vista Behavioral Health seeks a compassionate Mental Health Technician to join the Nursing Team, providing continuous patient care and supervision for adolescents through geriatrics under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include documenting patient changes, ensuring safety checks, and participating in treatment planning and performance improvement activities. CPR and CPI training are required or obtained on hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques, and understanding of mental illness required.
• CPR certification and CPI training required (could be obtained during new hire orientation).

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient care and maintain safety of all assigned patients with 15-minute safety checks.
• Observe and document changes in patients' appearance, behavior, and progress toward treatment goals.
• Communicate changes in patient's condition to the Charge Nurse or Nurse Manager.
• Document interventions promptly and ensure care is based on the patient's plan of care.
• Apply crisis intervention techniques as needed and assist patients toward independent functioning.
