Job summary

Monarch Healthcare Management is seeking a Mental Health Technician to support residents in our Minnesota facilities, combining recreation assistant duties with specialized training focused on adults with mental illness to foster recovery and well‑being.

You will work under supervision, follow directions, and help educate colleagues on best practices learned through training. Proficiency in English is required, and background checks must meet Minnesota DHS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience working with adults diagnosed with a variety of mental illness.
• Clear and proficient English reading and writing.
• Ability to take direction and follow oral and written instructions.
• Must qualify for employment after criminal background check per Minnesota DHS guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide standard recreation assistant duties with a focus on residents with mental illness.

Mental Health Technician

Position Summary

Mental health technician will be responsible for all the standard job duties of a recreation assistant but will have the opportunity to receive specialized training focused on working with residents struggling with mental illnesses. Technicians will be chosen based on demonstrating a natural aptitude for working with, and relating to, those struggling with mental illness. This will be done with input from their supervisors and additional facility staff. Because of this skill set, Monarch will work to enhance the skills demonstrated by providing further education to these individuals to advance their abilities. These technicians will then bring their knowledge back to the facility and working to educate their co-workers on what they have learned.

Qualifications

• Experience working with adults diagnosed with a variety of mental illness. Two years of experience preferred.
• Ability to clearly speak and proficiently read and write in English.
• Ability to take direction and follow oral and written instructions.
• Must qualify for employment, after criminal background check, per guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
