Job summary

Baptist Health LaGrange is seeking a Mental Health Tech for the 7p-7a night shift in our inpatient behavioral health unit. This PRN role supports an 11-bed unit serving adults 18 and older in a safe, structured environment.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team including RNs, social workers, recreation therapist, and a psychiatrist, performing routine patient care, vital signs, safety rounds, and responsive support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• BLS certification required or will be obtained.
• Experience in behavioral health not required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with routine patient care as delegated by nursing staff
• Assists in obtaining patient histories, takes vital signs, I & O and documents
• Complete safety rounds for patients and unit as delegated/assigned
• Maintains clean and tidy patient room/environment
• Responds to requests for service and assistance in a positive manner
• Advocate for patient

Our focus will be providing care for adults 18 and older who require hospitalization for behavioral health needs in a safe and structured environment. The unit utilizes an interdisciplinary team approach to provide care for patients.
