Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in an area of human services, which includes, but may not be limited to: psychology, sociology, counseling, criminal justice, pastoral counseling, elementary/special education, or family therapy.
• High School diploma/GED plus 2 years of experience (paid or unpaid) in a human services role involving direct contact (e.g., coaching, teaching, case management).
• Must be compassionate and demonstrate understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
• Respiratory Fit Testing required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a registered nurse, maintaining a safe milieu.
• Facilitate a therapeutic and trauma-informed environment with youth with autism spectrum disorders.
• Lead therapeutic group sessions and perform Q15 observation rounds.
• Record patient vital signs and assist nurses with head-to-toe assessments.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as brushing teeth, dressing, toileting, and showering.

Foundations Behavioral Health in Doylestown, PA provides innovative behavioral health treatment and academic excellence to children, adolescents and young adults ages 5 through 21 years, and specializes in programs designed to meet the needs of youth with autism spectrum disorders. Established in 1964, Foundations Behavioral Health provides treatment in a homelike environment located on a 12-acre campus in Bucks County, PA.

We are hiring Mental Health Techs for full-time positions on evening shift (3pm–11:30 pm) in our Acute Psychiatric Inpatient Hospitalization and Residential Treatment Program for youth with autism spectrum disorder. This position requires an every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) commitment and offers a full-time benefits package.

Our Mental Health Techs (MHT) provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, facilitating a therapeutic and safe milieu by following trauma-informed care practices for safe interactions with patients and residents, and ensuring the proper level of supervision is maintained.

Primary responsibilities include: maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu by following program schedules and behavior plans; utilizing appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation skills; completing required clinical documentation; leading therapeutic group sessions; performing Q15 observation rounds; recording patient vital signs; assisting nurses with head-to-toe assessments; assisting patients and residents with activities of daily living when needed (brushing teeth, dressing, toileting, showering, etc.).

Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.

This position qualifies for a $6,000 commitment bonus!

OVERTIME ELIGIBLE: There is opportunity for overtime on various shifts if interested.
