This role requires a High School diploma, CPR certification, 180 days of related experience, and completion of Handle with Care training within 90 days, with benefits starting on day one and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 180 days experience as Mental Health Technician, Psychology Technician, Psychiatric Technician, or related roles as listed.
• Maintains current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Must obtain and maintain Handle with Care (HWC) Certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsabilités

• Documents observations on assigned patients in legible, accurate format following hospital procedures.
• Communicates patient condition information to the RN and healthcare team.
• Assists with nursing education groups.
• Completes AM/PM care, vital signs, and milieu supervision of patient care as assigned.
• Demonstrates competency in unit tasks and skill as defined by competency lists.
• Transports and delivers items, equipment, and medications throughout the facility.
• Maintains attendance consistent with policies and regulatory standards.
• Participates in nursing Performance Improvement activities and ensures regulatory compliance.

A Brief OverviewPerforms general nursing care to patients in a manner that considers safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN).

Responsibilities

• Documents observations on assigned patients in legible, accurate and appropriate format following hospital and unit procedures.
• Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient’s condition to the RN and other members of the healthcare team.
• Assists with nursing education groups.
• Completes assignments of AM/PM care, vital signs, phlebotomy, total milieu supervision of patient care: assist members of the nursing team and/or other disciplines; assist with admissions and discharges as assigned.
• Demonstrates competency in unit specific tasks and skill as defined by unit specific competency list.
• Transports and delivers items, equipment, and medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs) throughout the facility.
• May have limited access to areas storing medications.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
• Participates in nursing Performance Improvement (PI) activities as assigned.
• Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patient rights and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.
• Practices efficient use of supplies.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and organized unit.
• Receives and processes incoming calls, patient calls and guest requests.
• Transports and delivers items and equipment throughout the facility.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age‑specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit’s/area’s/department’s policies and procedures.

• Maintains current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Must obtain and maintain current Handle with Care (HWC) Certification within 90 days of hire.
