Job summary

Wasatch Crest seeks a dedicated Mental Health Technician for graveyard shifts in Heber City, UT. The role supports residents in a residential treatment setting, fostering a healing environment and ensuring program compliance.

Responsibilities include monitoring residents, conducting screenings, documenting in EHR, and assisting with groups and admissions. Must have a valid Utah driver’s license, pass drug screening, TB test, and CPR certification; flexible hours required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Utah driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle.
• Must pass random drug screening tests, TB test, and CPR certification.
• Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including use of tools and technologies.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor residents' whereabouts, activity, and program compliance during shift.
• Conduct inquiry searches for contraband as needed.
• Conduct drug screenings and monitor for substance use including random UAs.
• Adhere to all policies, handbooks, and documentation requirements.
• Provide active listening and supportive communication to residents.
• Understand resident needs and available resources to assist recovery.
• Model appropriate personal and professional boundaries.
• Provide consistent, outcome-oriented interventions.
• Motivate residents with a calm, respectful demeanor.
• Show empathy and patience in challenging situations.
• Assist with group activities, outings, and transportation as needed.
• Support with medications, UAs, admissions, and coordination as needed.
• Perform UAs and BACs if needed.
• Complete shift notes and EHR entries daily.
• Assist clinical in Recreational and Therapeutic activities.
• Comply with state licensure and accreditation documentation.
• Screen visitors and maintain client confidentiality.
• Participate in trainings and other duties as assigned.
