Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• College coursework in social or health sciences preferred.
• One year inpatient or emergency psychiatry experience preferred.
• Completion of Clinical Assistant/Medical Assistant/EMT training preferred.
• Nursing students who completed Fundamentals of Nursing encouraged.
• Valid driver's license for Transport roles.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and maintains the therapeutic environment.
• Assists with crisis intervention and patient safety.
• Transports patients and accompanies them for tests and discharge.
• Assists with physical exams, safety checks, transfers and discharges.
• Performs vital signs, phlebotomy and point-of-care testing as needed.
• Provides support to other nursing staff and related disciplines.
• Follows unit standards for patient care and hospital policies.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and safety standards.
