Inova Health System in Northern Virginia seeks a Mental Health Technician Coordinator for a PRN position with a variable shift, including day or night options. The role emphasizes flexibility, teamwork and commitment to patient safety. Certification in BLS and ongoing collaboration with Behavioral Health services are required.

Qualifications

• High School education required.
• BLS from the American Heart Association required on start.
• Experience in mental health or hospital/clinic setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative support by answering phones, transcribing orders and maintaining charts.
• Communicates abnormal values and clinical changes to the appropriate staff within 15 minutes.
• Answers and screens telephone calls, providing information or referrals to staff.
• Schedules for appointments in automated scheduling system; handles copies, faxes and mail distribution.
• Reinforces transition/discharge teaching and home care skills.
