Job summary

Bloomington Meadows Hospital is seeking a dynamic Mental Health Technician to join our team of compassionate professionals. The role involves routine patient care under RN supervision and participation in admissions, discharges, and transfers.

You will monitor patient safety, assist with daily living activities, recognize cues for potential aggression, de-escalate when needed, and help maintain a therapeutic environment across inpatient and outpatient programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA certificate desired but not required.
• Prefer a minimum of two years of college in psychology, social work, mental health, or related fields.
• Experience with emotionally disturbed patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Reports patient medical problems to the Registered Nurse.
• Monitors safety issues and de-escalates when needed.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and encourages independence.
• Provides care ensuring safety, rights, comfort, and a therapeutic environment.
• Represents the facility with a professional, courteous attitude.
