Responsibilities

Mental Health Technician (FT, PT and PRN- All Shifts)

The Psychiatric Institute of Washington provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. PIW is a 130 bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency. PIW has an excellent reputation as an innovative hospital with caring, dedicated staff, experienced in the delivery of behavioral healthcare. Situated in the safe, historical Tenleytown neighborhood, PIW is one mile from the Tenleytown Metro stop and within walking distance to local cafes and restaurants.

Basic Function

Responsible for providing direct patient care to adolescents from the ages of 10-17 years of age and adults ages 18-65+ that is congruent with the philosophy and standards of practice defined by the Nursing Department. Responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of the registered nurse. Supports and maintains the program philosophy and structure. Participates in group meetings and is responsible for leading task groups.

*Prior Mental Health, Behavioral Health experience is a plus*

Qualifications
  • One year experience working in a job related field in a clinical/healthcare, correctional healthcare, or mental/behavioral health setting preferred
