Job summary

University Health is seeking a psychiatric support assistant to assist Psychiatry Services and nursing staff with patient preparation and treatment procedures. You will provide routine patient care in both acute and non-acute psychiatric settings and help maintain a therapeutic milieu through effective communication.

The role requires at least a high school diploma and one year of related experience, with three years in a psychiatric setting preferred.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience and notary public preferred.
• AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support and Healthcare Provider cards currently held are required.

Performs routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment. Assists in maintaining the therapeutic milieu by utilizing appropriate communication skills. Performs clerical duties associated with patient care management.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma, its equivalent, or higher degree is required. One year of equivalent experience is required. Three years experience in a psychiatric setting is preferred. Phlebotomy experience and notary public preferred. Must have current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Healthcare Provider card.
