Northlake Behavioral Health System in Louisiana is seeking a Mental Health Technician (MHT) to work night shifts as a full-time, non-exempt team member. You will support inpatients across ages with behavioral health needs, guiding routines, supervising activities, and assisting with safety checks.
The role requires BLS (AHA) and CPI certification, a high school diploma, and candidates must be 21+ years old with de-escalation skills and teamwork with nurses and therapists to promote recovery.
Position: Mental Health Technician (MHT)

Schedule: 12-Hour Shifts, Night, 6:45pm to 7am
Schedule: Alternating weeks of three shifts and four shifts; some weekends and holidays required

About the Role
You will help create a safe, supportive, and structured environment for patients receiving inpatient behavioral health services. Daily work includes guiding patients through routines and activities, supporting therapeutic groups, observing and documenting behavior, and using approved de-escalation techniques when needed. You will also help with safety checks, monitor patient areas, and collaborate closely with nurses, therapists, and the rest of the care team to support patient safety, treatment, and recovery.
