Job summary

Qualifications

• Physical requirements include medium work and ability to supervise safety, CPR and restraints as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to children, adolescents and adult patients with psychiatric disorders to ensure safety on the unit.
• Ensure patient safety on the unit and maintain a secure environment.
• Work night shifts 7pm–7am, including every other weekend.

Mental Health Technician

Work schedule is night shifts 7pm - 7am, to include every other weekend.

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) provides direct care to children, adolescents and adult patients with psychiatric disorders, to ensure the safety and well-being of the patients. MHTs have the primary responsibility for ensuring the patient’s safety on the unit.

Qualifications

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High School graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field preferred.

Experience:

Previous healthcare experience required.

Physical requirements:

Medium Work – Exerting 20 – 50 pounds of force occasionally or 10 – 25 pounds of force frequently or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds of force frequently or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of these for light work. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
