Job summary

North Mississippi Commission on Mental Illness and seeks a dedicated assistant to support the clinical program in Batesville, MS. You will assist the clinical team, orient new participants, provide direct care, supervise residents, and help run daily activities.

You will maintain accurate records, enforce the program schedule, coordinate recreational activities, and ensure a safe living environment. A high school diploma and a clear background check are required, with strong communication skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Acceptable criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinical team in general program activities.
• Orient new individuals by reviewing the schedule and ensuring their needs are met, when appropriate
• Provide direct care and supervision to individuals receiving services.
• Facilitate recreational activities, including board games, movies, cards, etc.
• Help insure safe living environment for all residents.
• Assist with management of unstructured time.
• Help enforce program schedule and program rules.
• Maintain accurate and up to date records on assigned individuals, such as behavior reports.
• Supervise and assist residents with daily living skills as needed.
• Wash linens and ensure that all hygiene boxes are filled.
• Ensure orientation packets are available for all new individuals coming in for treatment.
• Assist staff in the admission process
• Fill in for other staff as needed and assigned by the Coordinator.
• Man facility phone service and handle referral of all emergency calls to appropriate Communicare crisis staff.
• Provide administrative assistance when requested such as scanning documents and filing them into the chart in the EHR, making copies, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
