Job summary

MAS Community Health in Belfast, Maine is hiring Mental Health Support Specialists to work with adults living with severe and persistent mental illness. You will provide one-on-one support in clients' homes and in the surrounding community, following individualized plans.

Role focuses on helping clients achieve greater independence, securing housing steps, coordinating appointments, offering transportation, and teaching coping strategies. Training provided and supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation, active insurance, and current vehicle registration.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic comfort with smartphone apps and email, and ability to complete electronic documentation (e.g., daily session notes) - training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one support and supervision to adults living with severe and persistent mental illness.
  • Support takes place in clients' homes and in the surrounding community, following each client's individualized, person-centered plan.

What You'll Do

As a Mental Health Support Specialist, you'll provide one-on-one support and supervision to adults living with severe and persistent mental illness, helping them work toward greater independence. Support takes place in clients' homes and in the surrounding community, following each client's individualized, person-centered plan. Your work may include:
