Job summary

Turning Point of Central California is seeking a Mental Health Professional I to provide clinical services for individuals with Severe Mental Illness, including community-based therapy, case management, and crisis response. The role requires CA licensure (LCSW/LMFT/LPCC) or eligible AMFT/APCC/ASW, master's in behavioral health, and proficiency with EHR systems. On-site in California with travel for community services.

Qualifications

• Licensed in CA as LCSW/LMFT/LPCC with current registration or AMFT/APCC/ASW provisional status

• CPR/First Aid certification preferred
• Experience in clinical mental health services with individuals, families, and groups

Responsibilities

• Provide direct therapy (individual, family, group) and case management in clinic and community settings

Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Mental Health Professional I reports to the Assistant Program Director and provides mental health clinical services, direct treatment services to patients, and case management services.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide high-quality, therapeutic, wellness and recovery oriented, direct therapy services (individual, family, group treatment, case management, and consultation) in the clinic and in the community as necessary to a caseload of clients with Severe Mental Illness (SMI) and co-occurring-diagnosis individuals.
2. Provide primarily community/ field-based services with occasional office-based services.
3. Document services to meet all clinical program, county, and state requirements, including Medi-Cal/CalAIM requirements, noting significant intervention and progress toward development and attainment of a treatment plan.
4. Participate in clinical consultations and provide clinical direction to other treatment staff.
5. Follow all reporting requirements for incidents of Child Abuse, Elder Abuse, Adult Abuse, Dependent Adult Abuse, and Tarasoff warnings per California reporting laws.
6. Attend and participate in staff meetings and on-site staff training.
7. Work in a multi-disciplinary team to consult and coordinate client care.
8. Be available to respond to crisis in the community.
9. Provide the Program Director/Assistant Program Director with timely reports on any unusual occurrences that might impact the overall program operation or the health and safety of clients
10. Meet monthly key performance metrics, including end of the month deadlines, productivity standards and documentation timeliness expectations.
11. Complete the annual training requirements set by the agency and county.
12. Will drive on company business to provide services to clients in the community and transport clients as needed.
13. Think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
14. Physical presence in the office is required.
15. Employees are expected to manage their cell phone use so that the Agency cell phone stipend covers all business usage.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Licensed: Currently licensed in the State of California as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
2. Masters: A Master's degree in behavioral health science with current registration with the Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) or an Associate Social Worker (ASW).
3. Current certified training in emergency first aid procedures and CPR, preferred.
4. Demonstrated skills in clinical mental health services with individuals, families, and groups.
5. Knowledge of best practices regarding the treatment of clients with Severe Mental Illness (SMI) and Dual-Diagnosis individuals.
6. Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
7. Ability to operate within Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
8. Communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
9. Must be available by cell phone as needed.
10. Intermediate computer skills in Office 365, Teams, Zoom and other communication/meeting platforms.
11. Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required.
12. Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
13. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR BILINGUAL SKILL

1. Communicate effectively in written and spoken Spanish.
2. Required ability to communicate effectively with monolingual Spanish speaking clients and families for all clinical purposes.
3. Assist with phone calls for Spanish clients.
4. Required to provide language translations for case managers and Physicians on a periodic basis.
5. Minimal adequate competency in the Spanish language as evidenced by successful passage of the TPOCC Spanish Competency Test.
6. Other translation tasks as required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT FOR BBS SKILL

1. Licensed in the State of California by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage Family Child Therapist (LMFT), or Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with at least two (2) years of post-licensure experience.
2. Has taken or is able to take (required immediately after hire) 15-unit BBS approved courses to become a valid BBS Supervisor of associate clinicians.
3. Demonstrate knowledge and abilities to supervise clinical staff, to provide clinical assessments and interventions using individual, family, and group modalities.
4. Must provide at least 3 hours of supervision weekly.
5. Must complete 6 hours of CEU in supervision each subsequent license renewal period.
