The Mental Health Professional at North Central Correctional Institution in Gardner, MA, works within a multidisciplinary Behavioral Health Unit to deliver proactive, compassionate care to inmates. Responsibilities include crisis stabilization, intake assessments, individual and group therapy using CBT and Motivational Interviewing, and close collaboration with medical and community providers.

Licensed or license-eligible professionals (LCSW/LICSW/LMHC) are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed or license-eligible (LCSW, LICSW, or LMHC).
• Master’s degree in social work.
• Minimum of one year employment in a social work capacity in a public or private agency or equivalent preferred.
• Must receive a satisfactory background investigation report.

Responsabilités

• Provides crisis stabilization, intakes and ongoing evaluations, and consultation to in-house and community services.
• Provides Individual and group treatment utilizing an array of evidence-based modalities to patients with a wide range of clinical presentations and acuity.
• Participate in monthly behavioral health calls, work collaboratively with the medical team to best determine overall treatment for each individual.
• The Mental Health Professional performs risk assessment of incarcerated individuals; coordination of care with interdisciplinary team including medical staff, community providers, psychiatric hospitals and corrections; and discharge planning.
• The Mental Health Professional assists in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects.
• The Mental Health Professional provides the necessary preparation of documentation, necessary records and reports.
• The Mental Health Professional utilizes clinical skills such as prioritizing treatment needs; crisis management; brief clinical interventions including CBT and Motivational Interviewing.
• Excellent and timely documentation skills required.
• The ideal candidate is able to make independent clinical decisions, while utilizing assistance and supervisory intervention, as needed.

MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL POSITION SUMMARY

The Mental Health Professional will work as part of a multidisciplinary team with all other disciplines on the Behavioral Health Unit to provide a proactive and collaborative approach in serving the patient population.

MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
