Job summary

The State of Nebraska is hiring a Mental Health Specialist Med Aide at Norfolk Regional Center. You will provide direct patient care, assist with daily living activities, and help maintain a structured therapeutic environment in a secure setting.

This role requires passing education requirements, a valid driver’s license, and an ability to work various shifts. A Medication Aide certification is preferred, CPR and required certifications must be maintained.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 19 years old to work with adults; 21 for adolescents.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Medication Aide certification/license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications under supervision of LPN/RN; perform glucose monitoring.
• Assist patients with daily living activities within a structured environment.
• Observe and document patient progress; communicate with clinical team.
• Maintain patient safety and confidentiality; document accurately.
• Coordinate care with nurses, therapists and staff.
• Follow facility policies and participate in trainings.
