Job summary

Riverside Community Care is seeking a Mental Health Counselor / Food Services Coordinator in Wakefield, MA. The role blends counseling with culinary unit coordination, engaging participants in daily activities and meal preparation within Clubhouse programming.

You will plan meals, monitor food budgets, maintain health code compliance, and organize social events and wellness activities, supporting recovery in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Clubhouse experience, community-based programs, or Recovery Learning Community a plus.
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, respectful service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Engage Clubhouse participants in work activities and programming.
• Coordinate cooking meals (breakfast/lunch/dinner), menu planning, and budget tracking.
• Ensure compliance with town/state health codes and safety requirements.
• Plan and coordinate social events, health and wellness activities, and other unit tasks related to food services.

We are strongly committed to sending staff and members to two-week Clubhouse training as well as regional and international conferences.

We are looking for an energetic, passionate, confident, and skilled person that wants to work in an environment that makes a difference and is different every day. In this important role, the Food Services / Culinary Unit Coordinator is responsible for engaging Clubhouse participants in the work of the Clubhouse. Work side-by-side with participants while coordinating various activities and projects which includes cooking breakfast, lunch or dinner, menu planning, tracking the food budget, maintaining all town/state health code requirements, plan and coordinate social events/parties, and health and wellness activities.

Clubhouses are unique locations that offer individuals with mental health challenges a vibrant, fun, and engaging environment. Clubhouses help people move forward in their mental health recovery journey. This role requires great flexibility as you will work one-on-one and in groups. Our ideal team member would be someone that is passionate about food and sharing this with others. An opportunity to engage program participants in social and event planning, health and wellness activities, and assisting in other unit tasks related to food services.

Schedule

Full Time, 40 hours with occasional evenings and holidays

• Tuesday through Saturday

Pay Rate

$21.37/hour

Required Skills

• Drivers' license and reliable car to be used to transport members during the day required.

Required Experience

• BA/BS and/or relevant experience preferred
• Clubhouse experience, community based programs, or Recovery Learning Community a plus
