East Bay Agency for Children (EBAC) was established in 1952 to provide educational and recreational opportunities for children with special needs. Today, EBAC serves over 4,500 children, youth, and families each year throughout Alameda County. EBAC’s mission is to improve the well‑being of children, youth, and families by reducing the impact of trauma and social inequities and by creating supportive communities that enable all children and families to reach their full potential.

Job Description

Our Mental Health Clinicians provide trauma‑informed, culturally responsive counseling services to youth and families in school, home, and community settings. Clinicians collaborate with EBAC staff, caregivers, school leaders, and community partners to support resiliency and recovery for Alameda County residents.

Qualifications and Competency Factors

• Master’s degree in Behavioral Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
• License-eligible or licensed in California (BBS or Board of Psychology). Candidates in registration process are considered.
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Experience providing therapeutic services to children and families.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Commitment to trauma‑informed, culturally responsive care.
• Proficiency with a web‑based system for quality record review.
• Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma‑informed, culturally responsive individual, family, group therapy, case management, rehabilitation, and collateral services.
• Support youth in school setting to thrive despite impacts of trauma.
• Work with families and youth in community or home setting as needed.
• Conduct risk assessments and crisis consultation.
• Maintain high‑quality clinical documentation meeting county and agency best practices.
• Meet service delivery and documentation deadlines.
• Actively participate in clinical supervision, training, and learning opportunities.
• Collaborate with families, schools, community partners, peers, and program leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Job Setting

• Office setting with travel between sites for meetings.
• Ability to drive with appropriate driver’s license and insurance or access to a car.
• Periodic lifting up to 25 pounds.
