Job summary

Springbrook Behavioral Health System is seeking caring and patient-focused applicants for the role of Mental Health Associate on the weekend shift. You will join a team that directly supports autistic adolescents ages 5–18 within a goal-oriented program addressing their needs.

Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED; a BA/BS in Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or CNA is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; a BA/BS in psychology, sociology, criminal justice or CNA is preferred.
• Six months of experience in behaviorally impaired and/or mentally challenged patients preferred.
• Valid South Carolina driver’s license required.
• Ability to walk, stand, run, bend and lift light to moderate weight as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervision and care of autistic adolescents aged 5–18 on weekends.
• Work as part of a professional team to implement treatment plans and goals.
• Demonstrate patient teaching and supportive communication with the youth and their families.

Job description

This is a Weekend Shift Position. 1st and 2nd Shifts Available

Springbrook Behavioral Health System is currently seeking caring and patient focus applicants for the role of Mental Health Associates, weekend shift. In this role you will be a member of a team of professionals who work directly with autistic adolescents between the ages of 5-18. The autism program at Springbrook is a goal oriented treatment plan designed to meet the needs of children with autism and related diagnosis.

Education: High School Graduate or GED equivalent. Prefer degree in Human Services or BA/BS in Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or CNA.

Experience: Prefer six (6) months of experience in the management/care of behaviorally impaired and/or mentally challenged patients.

Licensure: Valid S.C. Drivers License

Physical: Medium work, ability to walk, run, stand, sit, stand, stoop, bend, reach over head. Occasional exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force.

Special Skills and Abilities: Demonstrate good judgment, initiative, dependability, decision making skills, as well as patient teaching skills
