Job summary

Riveredge Hospital in Forest Park seeks Mental Health Associates to care for patients on our Intellectual Disability Unit. Join a team that delivers compassionate, hands-on support with activities of daily living (ADLs) and therapeutic activities.

You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, providing group activities, milieu management, and role modeling across age groups. Flexible shifts and interview opportunities available.

Qualifications

• ADLs experience preferred.
• Highschool diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor Degree in psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
• Two (2) or more years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• Successful completion of CPR and CPI that is provided during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients on the Intellectual Disability Unit.
• Provides group activities and assists with milieu management.
• Mental Health Associates work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

Experience:

• Activities of daily living (ADLs) experience preferred.
• Highschool diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor Degree in psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
• Two (2) or more years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• Successful completion of CPR and CPI that is provided during orientation. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
