Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with mentally ill or addicted patients or providing personal care.
• Crisis Response Training and CPR.
• Ability to communicate with patients, families, peers and medical personnel.
• Requires emotional stability and resilience.
• Adaptable to change, decisive and able to show foresight.
• Exhibits organizational and leadership ability.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical, emotional and/or cognitive patient care in a safe manner.
• Liaison with departments to ensure patient safety and quality care.
• Utilizes effective crisis intervention techniques.
• Performs environment and patient safety duties (room inspections, patient searches, belongings searches, monitor visitors for contraband).
• Communicates abnormal variances of physical data (vital signs, pain) to staff.
• Relates emotional and/or cognitive data to appropriate staff.
