Job summary

St.Vincent's Hospital Westchester is seeking a Per Diem Mental Health Aide to provide direct therapeutic services to residents under supervision, including crisis intervention and medication management, while assisting with daily living activities. Responsibilities include maintaining the residence environment and following hospital and residential policies.

Experience in mental health or residential settings is preferred; a high school diploma is required with associates or bachelor’s degree

Qualifications

• Experience in mental health, substance abuse and/or residential setting.
• High school diploma required; associates or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must have basic writing and communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct therapeutic services to residents, including crisis intervention and medication management.
• Train residents in activities of daily living and daily living skills.
• Maintain the physical environment of the residence and ensure policy adherence.

Job description

Per Diem Mental Health Aide

Under the supervision of the management staff and responsible for providing direct therapeutic services to residents of the program. These services include but are not limited to: crisis intervention, medication management, training in activities of daily living. Responsible for maintaining the physical environment of the residence. All responsibilities under hospital and residential policy and procedures.

Additional Requirements

Experience in mental health, substance abuse and/or residential setting.

Physical Requirements:

• Walking up and down stairs while carrying items;
• snow removal;
• restocking supplies;
• sweeping and mopping;
• cooking and cleaning duties.

Education Requirements: High School Diploma; Associates or Bachelor preferred

Valid driver's license in good standing

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, WORD, Excel, PowerPoint) and database navigation required.
