Role Summary

Exo Imaging is seeking a highly motivated, technically rigorous MEMS process development leader to advance our silicon-based piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducer (pMUT) technology. This role leads the process-development work at the core of Exo's flagship product, Iris, and helps shape next- generation devices for a broad and evolving market. Working closely with Packaging, Product Engineering, Imaging, Manufacturing, and Characterization, you will translate product requirements into robust device architectures and manufacturable process flows, resolving issues from concept through verification, ramp, and production.

What You Will Do
  • Own day to day technical engagement with external foundry partners producing the company's MEMS and semiconductor components across Asia, the Americas and Europe.
  • Develop, standardize, and maintain test structures that monitor process health and generate the data needed to baseline, develop, and improve devices across product generations.
  • Plan and execute experiments with manufacturing partners , manage the in-line material flow, review results, and verify completion against requirements.
  • Partner with packaging and assembly teams to balance engineering and production needs amid changing wafer allocation, lot timing and operational priorities.
  • Lead the transition to production,i ncluding pre-production readiness, ramp, stabilization, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive process and product troubleshooting, yield improvement, and root-cause analysis, convert findings into actionable process and design changes that improve performance, quality, and reliability.
  • Identify and mitigate high risk development areas, then develop and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Serve as the primary bridge between Product Development and Operations, ensuring final products are compliant, manufacturable, and high-performing.
  • Prototype internally and with vendors to validate that designs and process changes perform as intended.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation throughout development and provide timely updates to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Coordinate suppliers and consultants to secure the materials and services required to meet program schedules.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Physics,or a related discipline.
  • Experience developing and integrating processes in a production MEMS foundry environment.
  • Hands-on experience with MEMS process development and integration.
  • Familiarity with new product introduction(NPI)in semiconductor foundries, including MEMS and ASIC
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to drive external manufacturing partners with urgency, clarity, and accountability.
  • Working knowledge of layout CAD tools(for example,L-Editor Layout Editor)and data-analysis tools (for example, JMP, Python, or Excel).
  • Ability to travel as needed to support foundry and supplier engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of experience in industry.
  • Experience with piezoelectric materials and devices.
  • Familiarity with finite-element analysis(FEA),failure mode and effects analysis(FMEA),and packaging processes.
  • Experience operating effectively within a small, high-performing multidisciplinary development team.
