Job summary

Tuskegee Airmen Texas State Veterans Home is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for Memory Care to support veterans with memory loss and daily living activities. You will provide compassionate care, follow individualized plans, and collaborate with nurses and staff in a respectful, patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal tasks, mobility, meals, and safety practices while reporting changes promptly.

Qualifications

• Current Texas CNA certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and nursing staff.
• Patient, compassionate, dependable, and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
• Memory Care, dementia care, long‑term care, or geriatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily nursing care according to each resident’s assessment and care plan.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, positioning, and other activities of daily living.
• Provide reassurance and redirection while maintaining a calm, supportive environment.
• Observe and promptly report changes in resident condition or behavior.
• Assist with meals, hydration, activities, and social programs.
• Follow resident safety protocols and complete required documentation.
• Protect resident privacy and provide care with kindness, dignity, and respect.
• Work as part of the care team to provide consistent, resident‑centered care.
