Job Purpose:- The Memory Care Activity Partner at PEACE VILLAGE is dedicated to enriching the lives of residents with memory impairments by designing and implementing engaging activities that promote cognitive stimulation, social interaction, and overall well-being. This role is integral to creating a supportive and vibrant community where residents can thrive.Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute a diverse range of activities tailored to the needs and abilities of residents with memory impairments.- Collaborate with the care team to assess individual resident interests and capabilities, ensuring personalized activity plans.- Facilitate group and one-on-one activities that encourage socialization, physical movement, and mental engagement.- Monitor and document resident participation and progress, adjusting activities as necessary to maximize benefits.- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to foster a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.- Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in memory care activities, incorporating innovative approaches into programming.- Assist in planning and organizing special events and outings that enhance the overall experience for residents.Required Education:- High school diploma or equivalent. A degree or certification in gerontology, recreational therapy, or a related field is preferred.Required Experience:- Minimum of 1 year experience working with seniors, particularly in a memory care or dementia-focused environment.- Proven track record in planning and implementing engaging activities tailored to individuals with memory impairments.- Experience in collaborating with healthcare professionals and families to develop personalized activity plans.Required Skills and Abilities:- Strong understanding of dementia and other cognitive impairments, including the ability to recognize and address the unique needs of individuals with these conditions.- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate residents in a compassionate and patient manner.- Creative and resourceful in developing activities that promote cognitive stimulation, social interaction, and physical activity.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.- Proficiency in documenting activity plans and outcomes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
