Job summary

Johnson County Memorial Gardens in Overland Park, KS seeks a skilled Groundskeeper to maintain the cemetery, mausoleum, and funeral home properties. You will operate lawn equipment, perform interments and entombments, and ensure accurate location of spaces on cemetery maps.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least 1 year of grounds experience; a valid driver’s license is required. This is a full-time position emphasizing teamwork and safety in outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year grounds experience.
• Cemetery grounds experience preferred.
• Valid state driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Performs grounds maintenance using lawn equipment such as weed eaters, mowers, hedge trimmers, edgers, pruners, leaf vacuums/blowers.
• Sets up and completes interments and entombments, including grave excavation and assisting with casket placement.
• Reads cemetery maps to locate interment/entombment spaces.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Exhibits teamwork, detail orientation, customer service, and time management.
