Job summary

Blue Ridge Public Radio (BPR), the nonprofit public media company of Western North Carolina, is searching for a Membership Coordinator. The Membership Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing Blue Ridge Public Radio's membership and annual giving program. This position drives the day-to-day coordination of charitable giving, seasonal on-air campaigns, donor stewardship, membership operations and data-informed fundraising efforts that fuel donor acquisition, strengthen retention, and inspire long-term engagement. Working closely with the Director of Donor Engagement, the Membership Coordinator serves as the primary operational liaison with BPR's fundraising partner, coordinates annual giving campaigns, maintains donor data integrity, and transforms donor information into actionable insights that strengthen fundraising strategy. Success in this role requires exceptional organizational skills, meticulous CRM management, outstanding customer service, curiosity about donor behavior, and a genuine passion for public media and the communities it serves.

This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Director of Donor Engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CRM and fundraising technology platforms. Experience with RevCRM, Iterable, Tableau, Basecamp, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Experience participating in public-facing membership drives; public media experience preferred.
  • Understanding of recurring giving strategies and methods for growing monthly donor participation.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising principles to support increasingly personalized donor communications. Knowledge and experience with public media are preferred.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range is $53,000 $58,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. We welcome candidates whose experience exceeds the minimum qualifications. Exceptional candidates whose demonstrated capabilities align with organizational needs may be considered for expanded responsibilities, advancement opportunities, and compensation commensurate with a higher level of contribution.

What you ll do at BPR

Primary Responsibilities

Membership Operations & Donor Response (45%)

Support the operational success of BPR's donor engagement program by coordinating donor-facing fundraising activities, maintaining donor data integrity, and providing the information needed to strengthen donor acquisition, retention and stewardship.

  • Generate, analyze, and present donor reports, audience segments, campaign results, and fundraising metrics to support strategic decision-making, stewardship, and annual giving initiatives.
  • Coordinate fundraising campaign implementation details, including source codes, premium and thank you gift fulfillment, and production schedules.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day liaison with BPR's fundraising and marketing partner (Contributor Development Partnership), coordinating fundraising logistics and project timelines.
  • Collaborate with Finance on membership revenue reconciliation, reporting, and audit support.

Fundraising Campaign Coordination (35%)

Execute Blue Ridge Public Radio's seasonal on-air drives and integrated membership appeals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop fundraising timelines, campaign calendars, and project schedules to ensure successful execution across departments.
  • Coordinate on-air fund drive in conjunction with Audience/Content staff to support on-air pitch schedules and develop campaign support materials.
  • Coordinate the development, review, and delivery of campaign assets across on-air, digital, email, direct mail, and other fundraising channels.
  • Participate in on-air fundraising activities, including live pitching.
  • Coordinate post-drive reporting and assist in evaluating campaign performance, donor response and opportunities for improvement.

Donor Service & Stewardship (20%)

Provide responsive, accurate, and donor-centered service that strengthens relationships with members and encourages continued philanthropic support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as one of the primary points of contact for donor and membership inquiries by phone, email, and mail to promptly answer questions regarding gifts, renewals, monthly sustainer changes, tax receipts, and membership benefits.
  • Work alongside BPR s gift processing staff to ensure accurate processing of gifts, donor record updates, and bank deposit batches.
  • Support donor acknowledgement letters, stewardship mailings, invitations, and specialized communications.
  • Assist with donor cultivation events, community engagement opportunities, and volunteer support as assigned.
  • Ensure every donor interaction reflects Blue Ridge Public Radio's commitment to exceptional service and stewardship.

Additional duties include:

  • Represent BPR by attending functions and participating in speaking engagements
  • Participate in on-air fund drives and team initiatives
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements
