Job summary

Unitus Community Credit Union in Oregon seeks a Member Services Float who travels between branches, the call center, and the virtual branch to assist members with accounts and loans. You will leverage consultative sales and provide exceptional service while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

You will open new accounts, process transactions, cross-sell products, and support the team with member inquiries, maintaining strong relationships across channels.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of fast-paced customer service experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with financial products and cross-selling helpful.
• NMLS and Notary Public certification in OR/WA required or obtainable.
• Cash handling experience preferred; Spanish-speaking is a plus.
• Reliable transportation; travel between branches required.

Job description

At Unitus, each employee has an opportunity to make a difference for our members. The Member Services - Float provides sales and service duties at multiple branch locations, call center, and virtual branch. Traveling between branches is required. This position assists members in processing basic and intermediate teller transactions accurately in a fast-paced environment in accordance with the established policies, procedures and authority levels. The Member Services Float initiates referrals and cross-sell opportunities for members for appropriate products and services based on member needs. The Member Services Float is proficient in opening new and maintaining existing accounts along with the products and services the Credit Union offers. These products include but are not limited to basic, consumer, deposit, and lending. The Member Services - Float provides exceptional member service while ensuring proper data collection and compliance with Federal, State, and Credit Union requirements. This position also provides back up to the Call Center and Virtual branch. This includes support for inbound and outbound member calls, emails, and providing assistance to members in processing financial transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures and authority levels. Primary Duties

• Work with members in-person to leverage excellent consultation and sales skills to proactively assist new and existing members to open new accounts, apply for loans, and learn about and be referred to other lines of business
• Perform all types of monetary/non-monetary transactions using knowledge of fraud prevention, excellence in service, and accuracy in transactions processed
• Continuously develop knowledge of credit union products and services, as well as the internal computer systems used to manage member accounts
• Collaborate with other staff in branches or departments to research and resolve questions or concerns
• Exceed sales and service goals designed with a member focus

As An Ideal Candidate, You Will Have

• High School or equivalent certificate
• Must have a minimum of one year of work experience in a fast-paced customer service role that includes experience assisting customers in person or by telephone
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and experience in using technology to accomplish work
• Experience in a credit union or bank aiding with financial services products and using cross-selling skills is helpful
• Ability to be certified through NMLS and as a Notary Public in Oregon/Washington
• Experience with cash handling preferred
• Spanish-speaking skills preferred
• Reliable transport required. This position is eligible for a travel pay differential*
