Job summary

Sage Credit Union is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Member Service Representative (MSR) for the Christmas Valley, OR branch. The MSR will handle a range of banking transactions, help members meet financial goals, and promote Credit Union products and services while delivering outstanding service to our community.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of financial services or related experience preferred.
• Customer service and/or retail experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process member financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, loan payments, cash advances, coin processing, and card/gift/travel card sales.
• Build member relationships and identify needs to meet financial goals and promote complementary products.
• Support branch operations including opening and closing procedures.
• Pursue ongoing personal development and training to qualify for MSR 2.

The MSR role combines the responsibilities commonly associated with bank tellers and customer service representatives, providing exceptional service while helping members achieve their financial goals. In this role you'll build relationships with members, identify financial needs, recommend solutions, and deliver outstanding service that improves our members' financial well-being. Responsibilities include processing a variety of financial transactions, opening accounts, assisting members with electronic banking services, and providing guidance on Credit Union products and services. This position is for someone who enjoys helping people, values community involvement, and is interested in building a long-term career with a growing financial institution. Essential Job Functions

• Contribute to the fulfillment of Sage Credit Union's mission.
• Deepen member relationships with Sage CU by maintaining current knowledge of all products and services, including the benefits and understanding of how they can benefit the member.
• Receive and process member financial transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, loan payments, cash advances, coin processing, Sage CU card maintenance and gift/travel card sales to members.
• Achieve or exceed the established sales goals through building of member relationships and referring products and services to meet member needs.
• Take ownership of personal development by leveraging monthly coaching and participate in continuing education to qualify for MSR 2.
• Assist with branch opening and closing.

Qualifications: Education and Experience

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, higher education is a plus.

• 1-2 years of financial services or related experience preferred.
• Customer service and/or retail experience is strongly preferred.

• Detail oriented and good organizational skills.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

• Motivated to learn and grow within the position and credit union.

• Scheduling flexibility required.

Physical Considerations

• A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) is necessary.
• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.
• Stooping; kneeling; crouching; and reaching below, at, and over shoulder level required.
• Sitting – 80%; standing and walking - 20%.
• Hearing, visual, and verbal ability required.
