Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced software engineer to own major features end-to-end, from architecture decisions through production release. You will build reliable, performant systems across core workflows using Python/Django, React, and AWS, and ship AI-powered functionality that clarifies legal complexity for law firms.

Collaborate with product, operations, and design to define what gets built and why, while helping shape the engineering standards and culture in a small, fast-moving

Qualifications

• 3+ years building reliable, secure software in production.
• Full-stack experience – comfortable across the frontend and backend.
• Proficiency in Python and React, or demonstrably fast at picking up new stacks.
• A track record of writing clean, testable, maintainable code.
• Experience with Django, AWS, or OpenAI APIs (nice-to-have).
• Prior work at an early-stage startup where you helped set engineering standards (nice-to-have).
• Familiarity with legal tech, document processing, or data-heavy workflows (nice-to-have).
