Job summary

Alpha Associates Recruitment's client in New York City seeks a Member of Technical Staff for AI and manufacturing, with five days onsite as the norm. You will own projects across AI/ML, backend/frontend, edge integrations, and data collection on the shop floor.

You will collaborate with manufacturing engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions, from requirements through testing and deployment, in a lean team environment with genuine ownership, and occasional travel up to 20% to acquired machine

• Strong generalist capable across AI/ML, backend, frontend, edge software and data systems.
• Own projects from requirements through implementation, testing and deployment.

I’m working with a well-funded AI + manufacturing company building software and AI systems to transform how precision manufacturing operates.

They’ve just raised a $15M seed round, taking total funding to $21M, and are acquiring multiple machine shops to build a technology-driven manufacturing platform at scale.

This is a genuine 0→1 engineering opportunity for a strong generalist who wants to work across:

• AI/ML and intelligent manufacturing systems


• Backend + frontend engineering


• Edge software and hardware integrations


• Data collection and industrial systems


• Customer-facing applications


• AWS infrastructure

You’ll work closely with manufacturing engineers and people on the shop floor, owning projects from requirements through implementation, testing and deployment.

They’re looking for engineers who thrive in lean teams, move quickly and want genuine ownership rather than a narrowly defined role.

Based: New York City - 5 days onsite

Travel: Up to 20% to acquired machine shops

Comp: $200K–$250K + 0.2–0.25% equity
