Job summary

YouFit is seeking a Part-Time Member Experience Specialist in Tampa, FL to deliver outstanding member service and support gym operations. You will greet members, assist with accounts, manage check-ins and calls, and help retain memberships while promoting offerings.

The role involves opening/closing duties, processing payments, and maintaining a clean, welcoming gym environment. The ideal candidate is 18+, fluent in English, and comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver Outstanding Member Service - Create a welcoming environment and greet members.
• Monitor Gym Access – ensure active accounts and check-in procedures.
• Handle Member accounts - assist with account-related questions and updates.
• Answer and Direct Calls – manage incoming calls and route inquiries.
• Assist with Membership & Personal Training Retention – engage with members considering cancellation.
• Perform Opening & Closing Duties – open/close the gym and prepare for members.
• Process Payments & Manage Cash Drawer – handle transactions and balance cash drawer.
• Enforce Gym Policies & Maintain Standards – ensure adherence to policies.
• Assist with Gym Cleanliness – maintain a clean facility and cleaning checklists.
• Report Safety, Facility, or Equipment Concerns – identify and report hazards.
• Maintain Cleanliness of All Gym Areas – restrooms, locker rooms, workout spaces, front desk and common areas.
• Clean & Sanitize Fitness Equipment – wipe down equipment.
• Empty Trash & Restock Supplies – replace liners and restock supplies.
• Clean & Maintain Flooring – sweep, mop, vacuum floors.
• Handle Emergency Cleaning Situations – respond to spills and hazards.
• Monitor & Report Cleaning Supply Levels – track usage and restock as needed.
• Ensure Proper Use of Cleaning Equipment & Chemicals – follow sanitation guidelines.

Your purpose

As a Member Experience Specialist at YouFit Gyms, you are dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring every member and guest has a top-tier experience. You create a welcoming environment by engaging with members, addressing their needs, and providing support throughout their fitness journey. While your primary focus is on customer service, you will also play a role in promoting memberships and other offerings to enhance the member experience. What You’ll Do

• Deliver Outstanding Member Service -Create a welcoming environment and consistently apply the 10/5 Rule: acknowledge members at 10 feet and greet them at 5 feet.
• Monitor Gym Access – Ensure members have active accounts, follow YouFit policies regarding check-ins and access, and address any member alerts as they check-in.
• Handle Member accounts -Assist with account-related questions, updates, and issues both in person and over the phone.
• Answer and Direct Calls – Manage incoming phone calls, provide accurate information, and route inquiries to the appropriate person or department when necessary.
• Assist with Membership & Personal Training Retention – Engage with members who inquire about canceling and provide solutions to retain their membership or services.
• Perform Opening & Closing Duties – Follow specific procedures to open or close the gym and ensure readiness for members.
• Process Payments & Manage Cash Drawer – Handle transactions at the POS system, including retail purchases, beverages, past-due balances, guest passes, and other services. Balance the cash drawer and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
• Enforce Gym Policies & Maintain Standards – Ensure members adhere to gym policies, such as dress code, guest policies, and facility rules.
• Assist with Gym Cleanliness – Support the maintenance of a clean and organized facility by ensuring the daily completion of required cleaning checklists completing both daily maintenance and periodic deep cleaning tasks.
• Report Safety, Facility, or Equipment Concerns – Identify and report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or facility concerns to management. Inquire about canceling and provide solutions to retain their membership or services.
• Maintain Cleanliness of All Gym Areas – Ensure restrooms, locker rooms, workout spaces, front desk areas, and common areas are consistently clean and sanitized.
• Clean & Sanitize Fitness Equipment – Wipe down and disinfect cardio machines, strength training equipment, and free weights to maintain a safe and hygienic workout environment.
• Empty Trash & Restock Supplies – Remove waste, replace trash liners, and restock restroom and gym supplies, including paper towels, soap, and disinfectant sprays.
• Clean & Maintain Flooring – Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to ensure a clean and safe workout environment.
• Handle Emergency Cleaning Situations – Quickly respond to spills, biohazards, or unexpected messes to ensure member safety and prevent accidents.
• Monitor & Report Cleaning Supply Levels – Track usage of cleaning products and request restocks to ensure essential supplies are always available.
• Ensure Proper Use of Cleaning Equipment & Chemicals – Use all cleaning tools and products safely, following YouFit guidelines for proper sanitation.
• Deliver an Engaging Gym Experience – Guide prospects through personalized tours, introduce them to the gym environment, and ensure a seamless transition to the membership presentation.
• Support Events – Assist with member appreciation days, promotions, or special events to enhance community engagement.

What We’re Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Proficient in reading, speaking, and writing in English. Fluency in multiple languages is favored.

• Basic proficiency in handling transactions, balancing a cash drawer, and following cash-handling procedures.
• Ability to enforce gym policies professionally and resolve member concerns effectively.
• Basic computer skills for processing check-ins, updating accounts, and managing member interactions.
• Ability to maintain gym cleanliness and follow required cleaning checklists.
