Charter Casting in Woodstock, IL is hiring for a 2nd shift production role. You will operate furnace charging equipment, use cranes to move steel scrap, and support daily melt operations on a 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm).

Starting pay is $26.25/hour (base $25.75 + $1.50 shift premium). Company offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, 401(k) with matching, profit sharing, uniforms/PPE, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and understand instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to read thermometers and record data.

Responsabilités

• Operate furnace charging equipment to support steel melting operations.
• Use overhead cranes to move and handle steel scrap safely.
• Transport raw materials to keep the melt deck running efficiently.
• Learn to operate induction melting furnaces and monitor the melting process.
• Assist with furnace maintenance and equipment upkeep.
• Identify and communicate equipment issues or unusual operating conditions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Work closely with melt operators and team leaders to support daily production goals.

Shift: 2nd Shift: 3pm-11:30pm

Pay: starting at $26.25 (Base pay: 25.75 + Shift premium $1.50 = 26.50/hr)

What you would do:

• Operate furnace charging equipment to support steel melting operations.
• Use overhead bridge cranes to safely move and handle steel scrap.
• Transport raw materials and supplies to keep the melt deck running efficiently.
• Learn to operate induction melting furnaces and monitor the melting process.
• Assist with furnace maintenance, refractory repairs, and equipment upkeep.
• Remove and transport slag hoppers and other production materials.
• Identify and communicate equipment issues or unusual operating conditions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Work closely with experienced melt operators and team leaders to support daily production goals.

Physical aspects of the role:

• Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs, hand use, and standing.
• Occasional carrying, lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling, reaching, complex neck/spinal motion, and walking.
• Minimal climbing, lifting up to 25 lbs, and below waist level work.

What you bring:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (GEDWorks program eligible).
• Ability to read and understand instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to read thermometers and record data.

Nice to have’s:

• Manufacturing experience in an industrial setting.
• Forklift operation experience.

The entry hourly rate for this position is $25.75 per hour. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on various factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and qualifications. Compensation decisions are tailored to the unique circumstances of each position and candidate.
