Job Details

Own melt shop operations for a three shift aluminum operation, leading a team of twelve through composition accuracy, casting output and safety.

What you'll do

• Lead a team of twelve across three shifts, roughly four per shift, running aluminum melt operations around the clock
• Own alloy composition accuracy, this site runs aluminum primarily with the capability to run magnesium if called for
• Manage daily furnace scheduling and casting output across all three shifts
• Supervise and develop shift level staff, this backfill exists because the prior leader moved on, not because of performance problems on the team
• Enforce safety protocols specific to molten aluminum handling and high heat operations
• Track yield and scrap closely, consistency across shifts is the standard here

What we're looking for

• Several years of melt shop or foundry supervisory experience, aluminum alloy background strongly preferred
• Comfortable running a three shift operation and holding consistency across all of them
• Proven ability to lead and develop an hourly team
• Working knowledge of furnace operations and precise composition control

Compensation and relocation

Salary up to approximately $105,000 for experienced candidates, floor not yet confirmed, worth getting that before this posts. Annual bonus target up to 10%, realistic average has landed between 5 and 7.5% over the last five years, with a full payout last year. Relocation is covered through a gross up sign on bonus, typically paid in the first paycheck, amount varies based on distance, family size and housing situation. Relocation timeline runs 3 to 6 weeks depending on the individual.
