Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking an experienced Meetings and Events professional to plan and execute national meetings and trade shows. You will manage budgets, vendor relationships, and cross-functional initiatives while ensuring alignment with business objectives and attendee experience goals.

You will serve as the SME for meeting management technology (e.g., Cvent), support COE initiatives, and coordinate event logistics from planning through execution, including travel readiness and post-event

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• 4+ years of corporate meetings and trade shows experience preferred.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive process improvements.
• Experience managing programs, vendor relationships, or operational initiatives preferred.
• Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or Cvent experience preferred.

What Meetings and Events contributes to Cardinal Health

Meetings and Events plans and implements a variety of internal and external meetings, events, and trade shows aligned with strategic business and brand objectives. This job family manages all event logistics, including facility selection, catering, transportation arrangements, audio/visual equipment and invitations, as well as promotional materials and merchandise. This job family manages the overall event calendar and budgets, and liaises with vendors to select services and negotiate prices.

Responsibilities

• Leads the planning and execution of complex national meetings and events, ensuring alignment with business objectives, attendee experience goals, and operational standards.
• Serves as the primary SME for national meetings and event management technology, providing expertise, recommendations, training, and guidance across the team.
• Supports COE initiatives through oversight of assigned programs, tools, processes, and vendor partnerships to drive consistency, scalability, compliance, and operational efficiency.
• Manages strategic vendor relationships and assigned programs, monitoring performance, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing enhancements to drive service excellence and desired business outcomes.
• Negotiates and tracks budgets. Works with internal stakeholders on budget management.
• Ability to execute trade shows ranging from tabletop to large booths.
• Understands and makes recommendations on contract terms and booth layouts related to meetings and trade shows.
• Utilizes technology to strategically manage meetings.
• Supports with day-to-day team operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
• 4+ years' experience in corporate meetings and trade shows highly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence stakeholders, and drive process improvements.
• Experience managing strategic programs, vendor relationships, or operational initiatives preferred.
• Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) preferred
• Cvent experience preferred
• Ability to travel up to 30%
