Job description

Critical Care Physician

Location: Washington, DC

Organization: MedStar Medical Group II, LLC d/b/a MedStar Medical Group

MedStar Medical Group II, LLC d/b/a MedStar Medical Group has an opening for a Critical Care Physician to join our team!

Job Duties:
  1. Establish appropriate medical diagnoses based on patient history, chart review, physical exam, lab testing, and radiographic imaging.
  2. Recommend, initiate, and manage appropriate therapeutic interventions for various pathologies, including respiratory failure, heart failure, shock, and acid-base disturbances.
  3. Present patients on daily rounds with the ICU attending and multidisciplinary team.
  4. Collaborate with all involved care teams, including other consultants.
  5. Perform bedside procedures, including insertion of central venous, non-tunneled dialysis, arterial catheters, chest tubes, and thoracentesis.
  6. Communicate between healthcare professionals to promote safe patient care between shifts and/or levels of care.
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Completion of a three-year Internal Medicine residency program.
  • Completion of a three-year Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine fellowship program.
  • Valid District of Columbia medical license.
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine.
  • Board Certification in Pulmonary Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine.
  • Board Certification in Critical Care Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine.
