Summary

The Department of Medicine is seeking an Infectious Diseases physician for the Baylor Medicine practice. With 14 sections, 10 centers, and six vice-chair groups, the Margaret M. and Albert B. Alkek Department of Medicine is the largest adult practice department at Baylor College of Medicine. We areone of the largest education programs in the US with more than 700 trainees, and highly competitive specialty fellowship training programs, including seven federally funded research training grants. Our healthcare providers see hundreds of thousands of patients in seven inpatient and outpatient facilities and our department’s clinical excellence is recognized inU.S. News and World Report. Our departmental research initiatives span the continuum of biomedical research from basic to clinical, attracting $128 million in total extramural funding, including more than $72 million from the NIH as well as other federal sources. The Infectious Diseases Baylor Medicine practice sees patients with a wide variety of infectious diseases including general infectious diseases, complex surgical infections, cardiovascular infections, tropical medicine, and HIV infection at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and the McNair Clinic.

Job Duties

Minimum Qualifications

• BC/BE Infectious Diseases
• Eligible for a license to practice medicine in the State of Texas
• Current or in progress DEA certificate

The position includes engaging in scholarly activities and participating in the education mission by supervising and training medical students, residents, and fellows.
