Job summary

Oakmont Senior Living in Fullerton, CA is hiring a Part-Time Medication Technician for Sunday and Monday PM shifts (2PM-10:30PM). The role administers medications per orders and supports residents with personal care, coordinating with pharmacy and physicians.

A supportive team culture and opportunities for growth are emphasized. Requirements include 1 year of RCFE medication assistance preferred, 18+ years old, high school diploma or equivalent (LVN a plus), and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Prefer 1 year of experience at a RCFE.
• Training/certification may be required by state regulation.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent; LVN is a plus.
• Must operate MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Written and verbal communication with staff, physicians, residents, and families.
• Must pass criminal background check and health screening, including TB tests.
• Health/safety protocols including vaccination and PPE as required.

The Medication Technician is responsible for supervising and assisting in the administration of medications to residents as ordered and in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and practices of the company. In addition, the Medication Technician will provide direct personal care, encourage residents to participate in activities, and work with housekeepers and maintenance staff in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute medication to residents.
• Coordinate medication services with the resident, pharmacy, and physician.
• Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Qualifications

• Prefer one (1) year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
• Based on state regulation, completion of training/certification may be required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• A high school diploma or equivalent; a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a plus.
• Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
