Job summary

The Ivy Blue Oaks, part of Oakmont Management Group, seeks an NOC Medication Technician for overnight shifts (10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.) in their senior living community in California.

The role administers medications, coordinates with pharmacies and physicians, and supports residents’ daily care alongside care staff. Ideal candidates have at least one year of medication assistance experience in RCFE settings, 18+ years old, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• One year of experience assisting with medication at a RCFE is preferred.
• Completion of required training/certification may be needed per state regulations.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute medication to residents.
• Coordinate medication services with residents, pharmacies, and physicians.
• Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
• Maintain accurate, confidential resident medication and care records.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment following safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork with co-workers and other departments.

NOC Shift 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m. (overnight shift)

Pay Range: $18.00 - $19.00

The Medication Technician is responsible for supervising and assisting in the administration of medications to residents as ordered and in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and practices of the company. In addition, the Medication Technician will provide direct personal care, encourage residents to participate in activities, and work with housekeepers and maintenance staff in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and distribute medication to residents.
• Coordinate medication services with the resident, pharmacy, and physician.
• Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Qualifications:

• Prefer one (1) year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
• Based on state regulation, completion of training/certification may be required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• A high school diploma or equivalent; a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a plus.
• Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
