Job summary

Vineyard-Senior-Living in Bluffton, SC is seeking a Medication Technician to support residents with daily care, assist with ADLs, meals, and light housekeeping while promoting independence.

You will engage with residents and families with empathy and respect, document health changes, maintain safety, and ensure HIPAA compliance. Training and mentoring of new staff are part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Medicine Technician (Med-Tech) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises self-administration of medication for residents.
• Assists with ADL's, meal service, light housekeeping, and laundry while encouraging resident independence.
• Interacts with residents at all levels of care with empathy, kindness, compassion and respect.
• Observes and reports changes in residents' health and emotional well-being to supervisor daily.
• Serves and assists residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
• Maintains a clean, safe and orderly environment for all residents at all times.
• Performs daily general housekeeping duties following established schedules.
• Responds promptly and courteously to resident requests for assistance including calls from families and visitors.
• Complies with HIPAA regulations and assists in training of new employees.

Summary: Responsible for enhancing and improving the SRIM experience specifically in the Heartful Care for our residents and their families by performing the following duties.Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Demonstrates and promotes SRIM's core value of the Golden Rule, treating others, including residents, families, visitors, and associates, in the same way we would like to be treated.*Supervises self-administration of medication for residents.*Assists with ADL's, meal service, light housekeeping, and laundry while encouraging resident independence.*Speaks to/interacts with residents at all levels of care constantly, while showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect.*Observes and reports to supervisor daily and all changes in the resident’s health and emotional well-being. *Serves and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.*Responsible for initiating and participating in leisure activities provided to residents as described in the activity calendar.*Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents at all times.*Performs daily general housekeeping duties following established cleaning schedules.*Ensures and supports a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates.*Always responds promptly and courteously to resident's requests for assistance including phone calls and requests from family members and visitors.*Communicates effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding.*Ensures residents and/or responsible parties sign residents out when they leave the community.*Maintains a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families, visitors, and associates.*Practices good body mechanics and safe working habits at all times.*Observes and reports safety hazards immediately to supervisor.*Provides assistance to associates when requested or required.*Knows, understands, and follows established policies and procedures in emergency situations.*Responsible for being considered essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather.
