Suncoast East in Sarasota, FL is looking for a dedicated Medication Technician to support residents with medications, daily living activities, and dining services. You will contribute to a caring, respectful environment while promoting independence.

Responsibilities include assisting residents with ADLs, observing health changes, and maintaining a clean, safe community. The role requires empathy, teamwork, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED; or equivalent.
• 1-2 years related experience and/or training.
• Med-Tech certification required.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records and basic word processing.

Other duties may be assigned.* Supervises self-administration of medication for residents.* Assists with ADL's, meal service, light housekeeping, and laundry while encouraging resident independence.* Speaks to/interacts with residents at all levels of care constantly, while showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect.* Observes and reports to supervisor daily and all changes in the resident’s health and emotional well-being.* Serves and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.* Responsible for initiating and participating in leisure activities provided to residents as described in the activity calendar.* Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents at all times.* Performs daily general housekeeping duties following established cleaning schedules.* Ensures and supports a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates.* Always responds promptly and courteously to resident's requests for assistance including phone calls and requests from family members and visitors.* Communicates effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding.* Ensures residents and/or responsible parties sign residents out when they leave the community* Maintains a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families, visitors, and associates.* Practices good body mechanics and safe working habits at all times.* Observes and reports safety hazards immediately to supervisor.* Provides assistance to associates when requested or required.* Knows, understands, and follows established policies and procedures in emergency situations.* Responsible for being considered essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather. Is required to report or remain at community until released by supervisor.* Works as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments.* Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies, and procedures at all times.* Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, associates and management at all times.* Complies with attendance and call off policy.* Attends and/or participates in trainings, in-service, and mandatory meetings.* Wears clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy at all times.* Refrains from discussing resident care issues with families and visitors and refers all inquiries to immediate supervisor.* Knows, understands, and complies with HIPAA regulations.* Assists with training of new employees.* Assists in mentoring new employees.* Takes on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties willingly.* Provides a variety of housekeeping and/or laundry duties in maintaining the community in an orderly, clean, and sanitary condition.* Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned.## Qualifications**Qualifications:**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
